Ocean Village Redevelopment Approved: A New Chapter for City Beach

On 20 March 2025 the Western Australian Planning Commission approved the proposed Ocean Village centre redevelopment, which will replace the aging local shopping centre with a new multi-storey residential apartment complex providing 247 new apartments above a new and expanded retail, dining and commercial centre.

The development includes basement car parks with residential access off the existing Kilpa Court and retail / commercial car park access to be provided via a new roundabout proposed by Transcore on Hale Road.

Transcore has been the traffic engineering consultant on this project since 2015 and is pleased to have assisted Blackburne to achieve the development approval. During the course of the project, Transcore liaised extensively with DPLH, Town of Cambridge and the project team and addressed all queries raised in detail, including the final WAPC meeting.
