Over more than a decade, our expertise has delivered successful results to a wide range of projects right across our state. A few examples, along with our contributions, are listed here.


One of the projects we’ve undertaken for PTA was the The Milligan Street extension. This extension is an element of The Link Masterplan in the Perth CBD. The design and operation of the Milligan Street extension is an important issue for (PTA) because this link will provide the only access route available to the new underground bus station for buses travelling to and from the south of the Perth Metropolitan Area. Perth Arena, a major sporting and entertainment complex currently under construction, is planned to be located to the west side of Milligan Street extension with a car park access on Milligan Street. We developed a detailed Paramics micro-simulation model to investigate the interaction of Bus services and cars along Milligan Street and to assess the operation of the signalised intersection with Wellington Street. Analysis was also undertaken for the car park access and exit for the Perth Arena.

Main Roads WA

One recent project we undertook for Main Roads WA was a complex Paramics micro-simulation modeling project, which involved modeling a railway crossing, traffic signals and bus service all in very close proximity to each other.

The objective of this project was to investigate the feasibility of different layout options, aimed at controlling this intersection.


One major project we’ve undertaken for LandCorp involved the development of the blueprint for future development of Karratha to accommodate a population of 50,000. We were responsible for all traffic and transportation matters associated with this project including the development of a Transport Strategy. To achieve the best results, our EMME/3 transport model for the Karratha region was used to assess different land use and growth scenarios as well as different road network options. The EMME/3 model was also used to establish the future road network requirements. In addition, a PARAMICS micro-simulation model was developed for the Karratha Town Centre to propose various development and road network options. Consultation with stakeholders, investigations and recommendations for pedestrian and cyclist facilities and public transport services also formed part of our scope of work on this project.

City of Perth

The City of Perth once again asked us to be their partners, to provide traffic engineering analysis and advice for the conversion of William Street and Beaufort Street to two-way operation between Wellington Street and Brisbane Street. Traffic-modelling results from the City of Perth SATURN model were analysed and the intersection operations, under two proposed road network scenarios, were analysed using SIDRA to check capacity and queue lengths, in particular. We prepared concept plans for Beaufort Street between Wellington Street and Newcastle Street, and have also reviewed the City of Perth and Town of Vincent concept plans for other sections of Beaufort, Brisbane and William Streets.

City of Mandurah

This important and sensitive project was recently completed for the City of Mandurah. As part of this project, Transcore developed a PARAMICS micro-simulation model for the Mandurah Town Centre to allow the assessment of a number of road network options. As part of this project, a multi-criteria analysis was undertaken to assess 2 directional flow options for Mandurah Terrace. Also a number of workshops were undertaken with the community and a presentation of the outcome of the study was made to the elected members.

City of Armadale

Transcore is currently undertaking a major strategic modelling project using the EMME/3 software for the City of Armadale which covers the south-east corridor of Perth Metropolitan area extending from Cannington to Mundijong. This model is assisting City and Armadale Redevelopment Authority (now part of Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority) in assessing the impacts of various land use options and proposed major developments as well as testing various road network options.

Claremont Joint Venture (Brookfield Multiplex & Hawaiian Group)

Our goal was improving access, circulation, parking, public transport and pedestrian/cyclist facilities, for the redevelopment of Claremont Town Centre and creation of Claremont Quarter

The project also required extensive liaison with public authorities regarding maintaining and improving the current bus services to the Precinct.

A Paramics micro-simulation model was developed to assess the suitability of various road network modifications and traffic management measures.

After an extensive review of the shopping centre and residential apartments parking layout was undertaken to ensure adequate supply and operation.

Our recommendations have now been implemented.
